Spitting Image Collective presents Hub New Music

Spitting Image Collective is teaming up with Boston-based contemporary music group Hub New Music to create new works for their instrumentation of flute, clarinet, violin, and cello. Called “contemporary chamber trailblazers” by the Boston Globe, Hub New Music is forging new pathways in 21st-century repertoire. Through creative programming and ambitious commissioning projects, the quartet of “intrepids” (WQXR) celebrates the fluidity and diversity of today’s classical music landscape. Its performances have been described as “gobsmacking” (Cleveland Classical) and “innovative” (WBUR).
Hub New Music's Twin Cities residency will include two concert performances (Oct. 25-26) featuring world premieres by Spitting Image Collective composers Katherine Bergman, Joshua Clausen, and Daniel Nass in addition to compelling works from composers throughout the nation. As a preview to the concerts, Hub New Music will present a performance/discussion as part of Zeitgeist's Lowertown Listening Session series focusing on the creation of the new works by Bergman, Clausen, and Nass.
